Day-by-Day Itinerary
1SRINAGAR ARRIVAL & LOCAL SIGHTSEEING
On arrival to Srinagar Airport you will be met our representative and get transferred in Hotel. Check in hotel, Afternoon proceed to city tour visit famous Mughal gardens like Nishat Garden, Shalimar Garden, Chashma Shahi, Pari Mahal/ Shakar Acharya Temple. In the evening go for a Shikara Ride on the famous Dal Lake. Dinner & overnight stay in Hotel.
2SRINAGAR – SONMARG – KARGIL (215 Km)
Leave in the morning and drive to Kargil by car, rod passes through the panoramic village reach Sonamarg (2740 Mtrs). After Sonmarg, most rough road and wet Zojila pass 3527 Mtrs (Gateway of Ladakh). Continue drive towards Drass (the second coldest inhibited place in the world) we stop here for tea and passport check. Another two and half hours drive will take us to Kargil (2710 Mtrs) which does have its importance after opening of Ladakh for tourists in 1974, overnight at Hotel.
3KARGIL – LEH SIGHTSEEING (235 Km)
Leave in the morning full day drive to Leh today we have to ascend three passes this day will be tiresome but panoramic too. First Buddhist village will be Mulbek. We have to cross the highest pass (Fotula 13749 ft.) on Srinagar Leh route. On the way visit Magnetic Hill, Meeting point of Zanskar River & Indus River and Gurudwara Patthar Sahib. Finally, we reach Leh 3500 Mtrs. Overnight at Hotel.
4LEH – NUBRA VALLEY / 125 KM
Post breakfast drives to Nubra Valley via Khardungla Pass, The Highest Motorable road in the World. On the way to Nubra Valley visit Deskit & Hunder Villages and have Double Hump camel Safari in Cold Desert (On your Own). Overnight stay in a camp at Nubra Valley.
5NUBRA VALLEY – PANGONG LAKE / 4080 METER / 155 km
Post breakfast drive towards Pangong Lake. Pangong Lake is situated at an altitude of 4250 M. You have to cross the Changla Pass which is at 5360 feet & is the third highest motorable road in the world. Pangong is the highest salt water Lake in the World, shared by two countries India & China. Witness the changing colors of the Lake at high altitude. Dinner & overnight stay in camp at Pangong.
6PANGONG – SHEY – THIKSEY – LEH
Post breakfast check out from camp & return to Leh & on the way visit Shey Palace & Thiksey Monastery. On arrival, check-in at the hotel again in Leh for dinner & overnight stay.
7LEH DEPARTURE
Today after breakfast check out from the hotel & you will be dropped at airport for onward journey.
