Overview
The **Kareri Lake Trek** is a beautiful Himalayan journey that blends adventure with serenity. Starting from Kareri village near Dharamshala, the trail winds through dense pine forests, gushing streams, and charming mountain hamlets before opening up to vast alpine meadows. Over four days, trekkers cover around 26 km, gradually ascending to 2,934 meters where the pristine Kareri Lake lies nestled among the snow-clad Dhauladhar ranges. The trek is considered moderately challenging, making it accessible for beginners with decent fitness, while still rewarding seasoned trekkers with breathtaking views. Nights are spent camping under starry skies, with the lake’s crystal-clear waters reflecting the surrounding peaks. Best experienced between May–June and September–October, this trek offers not just natural beauty but also glimpses of local culture and warm Himachali hospitality.
